Hello everybody:)  This weather the past week has been wonderful!!  So much so, that the boys and I decided to run away to the hills for a bit of a much needed camping trip.  It was so nice...perfect fall weather and a practically empty campground.  You can't ask for much more.

The hubby got to do some fishing (first time this year).  He managed to pull out three decent sized trout that we fixed up with some seasoning, lemon, and such and then cooked over the campfire on the second night.  YUM!!  Even got the boy to try it....and like it;)

The place we normally pick up firewood from was out, so we had to go firewood hunting.  It was a fun exercise in getting back to the nitty gritty of life.  The boy enjoyed doing the processing of the wood.  Later we borrowed an axe from a traveling nature journalist that was camped up the hill from us.  Nice guy.

The picture didn't turn out as well as I had hoped, but it is good enough to show our visitor.  We had gone for a bit of a fishing hike west of the campsite.  On our way back this guy swooped in to see who was roaming about his forest.  He was there for about 5 minutes and then disappeared into the deeper forest again.  Very cool.

Needless to say, I haven't gotten much quilting done this past week.  I am hoping to get back on track as the holidays are coming and I am going to have to create a homemade Christmas this year.  I know....it's a bit late to start, but better than never;)

Anywho...hope you all are having a great week and getting lots of quilty things done.  I have been reading the blog posts.....lots of creativity going on out there;)

Happy Quilting!!

The camping looks like a lot of fun. It's great that you're getting to spend such quality time with your son - he'll remember these trips for the rest of his life. Good luck on the homemade Christmas. It's never too late to start!

Camping is so much fun. Hubby and I used to go alot when we were younger. The owl is awesome. Homemade Christmas? A little tip - make a bunch of something in all different colors assembly-line style. They get done a lot faster that way, then let everyone take their pick. It works!

The weather has been great and your trip looks like lots of fun! We are itching to get out but other plans get in the way. Have fun with your Christmas sewing, you still have plenty of time.

Looks like a beautiful place to camp; glad you and the family are having great times together there! I'm learning that it doesn't (always) take forever to make little quilts, so you should have time to get your Christmas things together (if you pass hurriedly over Halloween, which I know you enjoy). Good to hear from you again. ---"Love"

A break is as good as a holiday so they say and if camping's your thing then enjoy. Christmas, well, um, er, ahhh, yeah, Christmas....
