Lazy days of.....spring??? I'm not going to jinx it here....but the weather is NICE right now;)  I've got my windows open, fresh air in the house, and something besides layers of flannel on;)

I think I have been busy this week.  Besides the two totes I showed at the beginning of last week, I got these done also....

I made the first one just because it was fun;)  The second one here is for a lady at work.  I broke two sewing machine needles and bent a dozen pins getting this together.  I think there were eight layers of denim, two layers of batting, two think layers of interfacing, and two layers of the white and red print.  This is a hefty bag.  Very sturdy.

As for quilting.....

This one is almost done;)  I have two more sides of hand sewing binding on.  I pulled the binding out of my spare binding box....

Whenever I make bindings, I keep the leftover parts.  I figured they would come in handy sometime;)  And since they are all the same width, all I have to do is sew the little pieces into one long string, and done!!  Waste not, want not;)

Oh...and Oscar is still convinced that this quilt is his....

;)
I pulled out another UFO to sit and stare at.....

I think this one has been a UFO for about 5 years or so.  I love it, but I ran into a snag when I got to the border.  I pulled it out today to see if I can figure out what next.  I'm thinking a black thin border, then another thin red one, then black and white chunks of blocks with a multi colored binding.  It will make it wide enough use as a crib quilt, or a wild wall hanging.

I think that's it for now;)  I've got to get back to work, and out for a walk before the sun sets for the day;)

Happy Quilting!!

Love the star quilt. It has that black and white feel a fun whimsical feel. It looks like it would be one of the those you just have to go with it....the brighter, louder it is the better it looks.

I like the star quilt, too. The bright stars really pop against the black and white. Your border idea sounds good. I love quilts with scrappy binding. Bits of different fabric in the binding really makes it interesting. The bags are great. I really like your "fun" one. I'm sure it will attract lots of attention! Isn't this weather great? We did some tree trimming this morning and I am worn out. Enjoy it while we have it!

First off, let me explain to you what my kitties have explained to me: everything in the house belongs to the cat. If it's warm and snuggly and soft, you might as well just give up. They'll share, yes, but it's THEIRS!

I love the star quilt. Did you make it up, or is it a pattern? Either way, it's great and would make a fantastic baby quilt with all the bright colors on the black and whites.

Wow to the star quilt! Do I recognize some of those black & white prints? It is getting warmer here, too. Most of the snow is gone from my garden and the pansies I planted in the fall are starting to perk up. Can't wait for Spring and the daffodils.

It looks like we ALL love the star quilt!! I also love the VW fabric backing. The bags look great - I don't like sewing on denim. And I do the same thing with binding. It does come in handy. I couldn't tell if the stars are going to fray.

I love love love that UFO! I hope it doesn't stay a UFO much longer. The bright stars on the balck and white are great. Nice bags too.
