Some Quilty Stuff from the Trip....and the Tat;)

I know I went up there to see the grandbaby and family, but being the quilt obsessed person I am, I had some quilty time too......
It's chaotic and off center....I love it;)  I used up all my strips that I had been setting aside for this.  I'm thinking a red border and black binding....not sure yet;)  I got it done while the grandbaby was asleep, along with the rest of the house snoozing;)

I got to go shopping in my mom's stash, along with a few trips to the local shops.....

And it explodes.....

A few more batik prints for who knows what...but they are pretty;)

And, of course, I had to indulge my "Halloween" side;)  Mom wants a Halloween cat quilt like the one I have on my wall.  I plan on making an apron from the black cat print with some big fat rick rack on the pockets made of green that matches the eyes;)

Believe it or not, I found this stuff at Jo Ann's.  I love the pink and black cats;) I am thinking of making that into an apron also.  Could you imagine the hubby's reaction to dinner served up in that....and nothing else? LOL;)
Live while you can!!!

I also got some goodies to make "things" with;)

There is somebody that is putting out a whole line of national parks blocks that can be used in quilting.  My mom wants a tote bag from these.

There was a recent issue of a quilting arts magazine that used zippers as flowers....I have tons now!

And then there is the stack of colors....fillers for all the novelty prints I have been collecting;)

Drum roll please.......no, really, it looks better in person....

I plan on having some more work done on it, but this is it for now;)  I watched a bunch of survival shows, and they always say to make sure you have a compass on you at all times...well, I do;)

Happy Quilting!!

Fabric mania! I love your scrappy quilt and the shapes it makes. Sort of kaleidoscope like. All that Halloween fabric is so fun!! Great tattoo too :)

Can I come over and play with your new fabrics? You got quite a haul and it all looks great. I've not seen those national park blocks, but I bet my mom would love them since they've visited about all of them over the past three summers! And the tattoo looks great, too!

I love your string quilt! So bright and cheerful; wasn't it fun to make and lay out? I plan to do another one before too long.
Nice new fabrics too! ---"Love"

Your string blocks look great -- they will make a lovely quilt. The baby pictures are wonderful (family loving and supporting one another), and Cayden is one beautiful baby.

The string blocks look amazing! As I'm catching up on your posts I know you have chosen the black and it works. What a fantastic haul of bargains, fabrics and goodies. I'm guessing that compass is somewhere where you can see it without contorting? **chuckle** Ann :-)
