It is so windy outside right now.  Spring in New Mexico is what it is.  I will be happy when it settles down.  It's so dusty outside that I can't see anything past the rooftops of the apartments here.  I think this would qualify as quilting weather;)  (any weather can be qualified as quilting weather if you try hard enough;))

What have I been up to....
Took the boys out hiking for an afternoon this past week.  We were getting stir crazy in the house, so I figured some physical activity would help out a bunch.  The boys talked a bunch about guy stuff, and I wandered behind most of the way taking in the outdoors and peace.

This was my sewing table earlier this week.  No, it wasn't me sewing any new and cool crazy quilt....

yep...he's sewing;)  He is designing his own "gothic" wear.  I let him use one of my other sewing machines....taught him how to thread it, clean it, oil it, and thread his own needle;)  After a bit of supervision on basic operating procedures, he took off on his own;)  Too cool;)

I got a lovely package of goodies in the mail earlier this week also;)  I was in a mug rug swap and my partner was a lady from Denmark.  It's always interesting to see what kinds of fabrics other countries have.

Oscar says I really need to get back to sewing, so I will write again later;)
Happy Quiltng!!

I wish it was warm enough for hiking here...soon! It's great that your son is sewing. Will you show us what he's made? (And I'm trying to see what happened to his arm, but I don't see any extensive bandaids in the photo - maybe that's a good thing?) Oscar is too cute and the goodies look like loads of fun.

Love it when the weather turns nice enough for hiking. I think we are still a few weeks away from that. How fun that you son is learning to sew. A good trait any man should at least know the basics of in my opinion. :-) Hope you get to work some on a project of your own.

The wind has been crazy here today. It is blowing so hard around the chimney that it sounds like thunder rumbling (loudly)! It is a great day for being inside and sewing. Looks like the boys are enjoying the day. It is nice to see your son learning to sew, it is a good thing for anyone to know a little about. Your fabric goodies look like lots of fun. Listen to Oscar, he had good ideas!

I just love it when young men aren't afraid to use the sewing machine! My daughter's boyfriend learned how to sew last summer so he could make himself some cosplay items.

Your son looks like a natural, and sewing gives that great feeling of accomplishment. Your hike sounds like fun -- almost as much fun as sewing!

The wind has been ferocious here today too! Hopefully we get rain tomorrow! That hiking trail looks tough to me! I'd stay home quilting, for sure! ---"Love"

I think your wind is heading my way! We are in for one big storm before the temps soar into the 80's. Your son looks like he is concentrating really hard, LOL. What is he making and will you show us (or well he let you show us)? Glad things are going better for you.

I guess your son has your creative gene, he doesn't start sewing with a pattern, he starts with designing.Awesome.
Wish I could have been on that hike. Sounds like your guys enjoyed it.
Hope you get a turn at sewing.;)

I hope the wind has settled for you. That dust is a nuisance. It's great to see your son sewing. Nice goodies from Denmark. Did you know that Crown Princess Mary of Denmark is an Australian - from Fer's part of the world - Tasmania. Oscar sure likes to keep you in check! Ann :-)
