Winter finally made an appearance here...and with gusto;)  We haven't gotten the feet of snow that other parts of the country are getting, but it's bitter, windy, and otherwise nasty outside today.  We had made plans last week to get out on the trails some more, but I don't really see that happening;)  So, instead, I am going to snuggle up on the couch and finish this off....

It was supposed to be done for Christmas, but it didn't happen.  I got the hand quiting done on it yesterday, and have the binding ready to go.

I wanted to keep this one, but it's really too small for me, even for a lap quilt.  It finished at 48" square.  I am sending it off to the grandson instead;)

I've been reading the news on the weather, and it's bad out there.  I hope everyone stays warm and safe.  I was thinking about heading over to the grocery store here soon, just in case it gets worse.  They say it will be -3 degrees F tonight.  I feel for those that don't have a place to live tonight and are having to deal with this out in the elements.  I hope the city opens up the shelters for them.  From what I can hear, I don't even think the buses are running right now.  I know alot of the homeless people will buy an all day pass, and make good use of the heaters on the bus.

Take care all, and be well.
Happy Quilting!!

Cute pictures; cute quilt! I love your black quilting stitches; adds a lot!
The weather is dreadful here in mid North Texas too! I hate so much that it's so bad with all Dallas has planned this week. I too am grateful to have a nice warm home. I haven't heard whether my county has opened a shelter, but no doubt there are those who will be cold and hungry. I hope the weather changes soon! ---"Love"

I love the quilting! (I love the quilt, too.) We're predicted to get a foot of snow starting around evening rush hour and lasting until about morning rush hour tomorrow. They've been wrong so far this year on all their predictions, so I hope they're off by about 11 inches again this time! Some people are talking power outages (yikes - not only will I be cold, but I can't quilt!) and food shortages (really?), but they're also talking about emergency planning and shelters getting ready for extra people. But we get lots of snow every year, so mostly we know what to do and I'm thankful for that.

Yes, we need the moisture but I am looking forward to the weekend when this should all be melted and it will be warmer again. I hope everyone can find a warm place for the night, too. With the below zero temps it will be a couple of nasty nights.

Love the quilt. Your work is beautiful! We are expecting an ice storm tonight. This on top of the 24 inches of snow already on the ground. Philly's shelters have been open almost every night for the last month. I feed the strays in the neighborhood.

Well the storm has come and gone here. Snow drifts up to my chest in areas. Yuck.
Wish it were going to warm up here soon.
The quilt is adorable. I love the black quilt stitches.
Stay safe and warm.
