I'm not really sure where my week went.  I am a day late (in my book) on posting, as I have tried to keep myself on posting at least once a week.

The water here has been off and on all week.  We have had 8 pipe breaks because some genius decided to make laundry closets OUTSIDE!!!  on the patios.  It just went off again.  We have been bringing in snow to melt for toilet water, and going over to the office to get drinking water.  Did I mention we were doing dishes with boiled water in a pot in the sink?  It was on yesterday, so we got to take showers.   My mom said to take a bucket down to the pool for potty water....she's a smart cookie;)   Oh well, it will get fixed.  At least we have the heater working now (yeah, it broke earlier this past week....we were sitting around the house wearing our jackets and headgear in the house!)

On to other things.....I have a new nephew;)  He arrived without issue this past Tuesday weighing in at 8pounds, 4 ounces, 21" long, blonde hair, blue eyes;)
He was the recipient of that green quilt I made a couple of weeks ago;)  What a cutie;)

On the quilty front this week....

I got the binding finished on this one, and signed it;)

Got this monster of a scrap quilt tied and ready for binding.  I tied it because 1) too big for the machine, and 2) we are going to use it for camping trips, etc.  I didn't want to put the time and effort into hand quilting it.  It will serve it's purpose;)

I spent last night (about 3 hours from start to finish) on this little gem.  Seems my husband has been selling my talents at work and the ladies are putting in orders for pretty little handbags.  I'm okay with it;)  A little extra money in my pocket, some creativity used, and I get to make things;)  I just have to learn to work outside of what I normally think as far as taste in goods.  I will put the one I have in the works up next time I blog so you can see where I am being stretched;)

Liriopia picked my blog for an award. I need to find out what it means exactly and I will post on it later;)  Thanks Liri!!

That's it for now.  I need to get back to the sewing table;)
Happy Quilting!!

What an adorable little boy. Lucky auntie! The quilts look great and I know what you mean about thinking outside your comfort zone for fabric choices. (If I made quilts for people with stuff I liked, I think a lot of them would have headaches from the brightness!) As for pipe breaks, that can't be fun. When we lose power, we lose water (we have our own well), so I understand about needing toilet water. I hope they get it all sorted out soon.

What a beautiful baby. So glad everything was fine with the delivery. Laundry closets on the patio? Had to be a man 'cause they can't see any further into the future than the tip of their nose, LOL! Email me about the award and if I can't answer your questions, Ruth can. She awarded me. Did you receive the jacket?

I hope you get your water back on soon, what a pain having to haul water. We have been lucky, no outages or problems, yet (knock on wood). We did turn the furnace way down for the days the gas was a problem. Just put on some extra clothes and made due. Your new nephew is adorable, chubby little cheeks are cute. Your quilts and bag are all very pretty. The extra income and creative time are both good. Congratulations on the award, too!

That sweet picture makes me want to say "Oooooooh, hi, Sweetie!" The quilt is perfect! Hope your weather and damage lets up soon! I lucked out with no damage, but my son's house has a burst pipe in the outside wall; leaked into the GS's closet and bedroom! Fun and money! Right? It could be worse --- like your problems! ---"Love"

Your new nephew is so cute. I totally loved working in the nursery. I got to cuddle babies all the time.
That scrap quilt looks perfect for cuddling up in.
Like you bag. Look forward to seeing the other one.
