Results of Quilty Day....

Well, you don't get much done when you sleep until 3 in the afternoon.  I passed out on the couch after the hubby left for a day of shooting practice.  Guess I needed it.  Now I'm up. In the middle of the night again. You would think I would be used to this by now;)
Anyway....I got the last of my swap blocks finished....
I went a little crazy with the slug bugs for the borders, but I think they came out cute;)  I will get them in the mail asap;)

And the only other progress I made was on this...

I think that's two more than last time.  I think I am starting to like this one the more I get done on it.

I did a bit of fabric substitution in this block.  I actually had enough fabric to cut another piece, but I had some leftover of that one, so I used it.  Maybe that's how some of the old quilts got their fabric substitutions also.  Who knows;)

Calling it a night;)
Happy Quilting!!

Your swap blocks are great, lots of interesting fabrics in them. They will perk up the quilts. Your other quilt is moving along well, too. The more it grows, the more interesting it gets! The little piece you substituted adds a lot. I like the look!

The swap blocks are a little wild with that border, but it adds character and if we wanted them all to be the same...well, we wouldn't be swapping would we?

I like the little checkerboard blocks. I can't wait to see what they'll become!

Great swap blocks. I just need to border mine.
Looks like you got a lot done. I looked thru a bunch of quilty magazines and thru my scraps and got nothing done...sigh

I love your swap blocks, and the 9 patch looks good. I've never seen it made this way, but I like it.

You wouldn't believe the fabric mix in a few of my quilts from the 1930's; they definitely used what the had! So your little patches will be great!
Each one of us in this circle of quilters is different; I have my own "visual concept" of each of you---maybe not exactly right, but when I read a blog, I see my "vision" of that person. I always think of you as being more adventuresome than the most of us, so I think your borders would remind me of you, the adventuresome one in the group. (Does any of that make sense?) And those APQ quilts are being made to remind us (even mine) of the friends we've made here, right? (I've got to get mine quilted! I show it to all my friends, and they just can't believe I have friends from all over the world. I think it's great, and even as I look at your names I've written in each block, I see my "vision" of you. That's what it's all about!)
(End of sermon!) *grin* ---"Love"

Thanks, Love;) I was hoping they (the blocks) would be okay. I know making stuff for myself that is a bit "off the wall" is fine, but was concerned with sending out the stuff;) And you're right...each of us quilter's are very unique, and I appreciate every one of us;)
Happy Quilting!!

I love-love-love the slug bug fabric! I am excited about receiving blocks that have your own stamp on them. Your other blocks are terrific as Love said - just like in an antique quilt. Ann :-)

What fun swap blocks. I remember looking at that slug bug fabric in the quilt shop a long while back wishing I had something to use them on. What fun uses you have come up with. They will add great character to the swap quilts!

You definitely get my vote for 'most adventuresome'.
Are we even close? Your blocks, and your quilts are one-of-a-kind.
