Putting a Little Love in the Quilt Stack

In the pursuit of instant-er gratification, I have been working on that little love quilt.  I got the top done, but I don't think Oscar appreciated that I was paying more attention to the sewing tonight, and not playing fetch with him......
Is it just me, or do you see that dirty look he's giving me too?  He's laying on my quilt blocks with two of his toys....just waiting, and not very happy at this point.  I didn't take a picture of it, but a few minutes later, he decided nothing was going to come of his display, so he climbed up into his cat tree and proceeded to sulk in the way only cats can.

But.....

I did get the top together;)  I really like it.  It's simple, pretty, and done;)
I started out with this layout...

Good enough, but I had that panel that I got to go with it.  It had four of those flower print blocks, but the even number of blocks just wasn't cutting it for me.  I tried three, but the quilt didn't allow for an eye pleasing arrangement.  So, I used one.  I had to cut the block down and then build it back up to the size of the other blocks with some leftovers.

So, now all I NEED/HAVE to get done before my mom shows up is her cat quilt.  I would like to be able to have it ready for her when she gets here.  She always likes to get some of my handmade goods whenever she comes to visit.

It's late, or early, whichever way you wanna look at it;)  I'm going to call it a night, have a glass of wine (or two), play some video games until I'm stupid, and then hit the hay.

Happy Quilting!!

Yes, it looks like a dirty look! Gotta love it! The quilt is cute with the flower block in it. Hope you get the cat quilt finished in time. Good luck!

Cats are so good at letting you know what they are thinking!

I like the quilt arrangement you settled on, it is perfect! I like the fabrics, it is really cute.

Boy I've seen that look before! At my house it is usually followed by some sort of naughty behavior - something that will get me to pay attention to them for sure.

I like the quilt. And I like the single panel in there, too.

Have you washed that red fabric?!

Oscar does look a little annoyed -- but you have got to give him credit for trying.

Your new quilt is so pretty. I, too, like the one flower block. Very girly.

Hope you make some progress with your mom's cat quilt.

When I saw those fabrics, I knew you would do something really nice with them, and indeed you have! It looks terrific!
I guess I'll turn devil's advocate, and say that to me Oscar has a smile and squinted eyes that say, "Look what she's making, just for me!" Boy, is he in for a shock! ---"Love"
