A Quick Hello....

Thought I would drop in real quick before I head out for the morning.  I am having a hard time adjusting to the new sleep/work schedule....but then, it's only been a couple of days.

I did make a bit of progress on the new quilt blocks....
This is a great example of values that change after you cut them up into pieces and sew them back together.  The green and brown block had enough contrast before I cut them, but compared to the other two blocks, it might as well be a solid piece of fabric again.  But, that doesn't mean it won't get used in the final quilt layout.
I will have to take a photo of the inspiration quilt for this one next time I blog.  It's slow going on this one, but I am enjoying the process.

Gotta get my rear in gear and get out of here;)
Happy Quilting!!

Yep, that green and brown does look like just a piece of fabric, but I'm sure it will all work out in the end. And count it as a learning experience!

You'll get used to the new work schedule. It took me months before I was used to working 8 to 5 after being on second for a few years. Hang in there!

Just to think how much work you put into that block is sad, isn't it? It does look like one fabric from a distance, but up close, as it will be on your bed, it will look just fine. Keep going! ---"Love"

I like the green and brown block, especially up close. Not all blocks need to sing -- some do better at humming.

I'm sure in the grand scheme of things the green and brown block will work out. I like those two colours together. As Sandy said, some blocks can "hum". And when I enlarged the picture to closer to actual size the squares seemed distinct enough. Photos shrink things so much that the true effect can sometimes be lost. -Joanne

You have accomplished a lot! The green and brown in the pic does kinda blend together but up close it looks great. Yep, I vote keep going and it will all work out great!

A change in schedule does take some adjustment, plus with all the excitement of the baby arriving you are probably still worn out. Hopefully in a couple of weeks you will get use to it>

You're right, there is a lot of work in these blocks. Interesting to see how the values have cancelled each other out. Must keep that in mind. Cheers, Ann :-)

Look forward to seeing the inspiration quilt for the one you are working on. I like your blocks. When you blow up the photo , the contrast looks fine.
Stitch on!
