It's Official....I'm a Grandmother!!!!!

After an afternoon of texting, phone calls, and video's via the phone, Little Mister Cayden Thomas made his grand entrance at 6:11 pm today!!!

My son called me just before 6pm and told me that they had started the pushing part.  He told me to listen, and proceeded to hold the phone through the door into the delivery room so I could hear everything.  He told me he wanted me to hear the first cries of life.  I could hear them telling her to push, and relax, and such.  I could hear her a bit.....she was actually really quiet.

After one final pushing round, she let out a bit of....how do you say?...that primitive outcry from deep inside, and then the baby was making his own announcement;)

That boy has got a pair of lungs on him, I tell you what;)

6 lbs, 4ozs, 19"....a little guy compared to the two I had!  They sent me pictures over my phone, but I can't figure out how to get them onto the computer.  I will get pictures up when I get them via snail mail.

After making sure mamma and baby were safe and sound, I took a nap;)  Have to get that practice down now that I'm officially grandma;)

I have to go to work tomorrow...orientation.  I should be in bed right now, but I've been on the night shift for so long, it's going to take a few days to switch over to an early morning schedule.  I'm a bit nervous about going back to work, but I'll get through it.

Anyway, I'm going to relax and enjoy the rest of the night;)
Happy Quilting to all,
Kathleen

Congrats!!!! Welcome Cayden. What a great idea to hold the phone so you could "be there" too.
